Frequently Asked Questions

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. After we go over some initial logistics and policies, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and what you’ve already tried. You don’t need to come prepared or know exactly “where to start.” I’ll guide us, ask thoughtful questions, and help us find a pace that feels grounded and safe for you. It’s a chance for you to feel what it’s like to sit with me and see whether the space feels supportive.

Therapy works best when the relationship feels steady, safe, and honest. You’ll get a sense of whether you feel seen, understood, and comfortable enough to go deeper over time. If something feels off, we can talk about it; if we’re not the right match, I’ll help you find someone who is. Fit matters more than anything else.

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for me, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

Most sessions are 50-60 minutes. EMDR sessions are typically 60 minutes to give us the space we need for grounding and processing. Most clients meet weekly, especially at the beginning, though we can adjust frequency based on your needs, goals, and where you are in the work.

There’s no right timeline. Some people come in with a specific concern that resolves in a shorter amount of time, and others stay longer to do deeper, insight-oriented work. We’ll check in regularly about how things are feeling, what’s shifting, and what you’re wanting from the process.

Sessions can be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice with no charge. Cancellations under 24 hours are billed at your session rate.
